If an animal is on our website, it is still available but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, it is in your best interest to submit an application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
As an all-volunteer, foster home based organization, ARF does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we must give priority to pre-approved applicants.
Etzie is a 4 year old spayed female Lab/Retriever mix who weighs in at approximately 65 pounds. Etzie is friendly with people and other dogs, and knows a few commands. She is a smart girl and picks up on the flow of the household quickly. Etzie would prefer to have a family/human that is home more often than not. She would make a great companion for a retired person or someone who works from home. Etzie sleeps great on a dog bed in the bedroom with her humans and loves to hang out near you during the day. Etzie does have a touch of separation anxiety, and although this can cause her to be a bit mischievous, this sweet girl is not destructive. She does ok in a crate when left alone and has been doing well more recently being left free roam of the first floor during the day for 3-4 hours at her foster home. Etzie is a well trained girl and initially would not get up on the furniture. Her foster home has spoiled her a bit, and once invited, she has decided couches are pretty comfy! She will sit next to you and look up at you with those soulful eyes and enjoys a good chest rub, occasionally rolling over for a good belly rub too! Etzie walks ok on a leash - she will pull a bit and loves to stop and sniff all the smells of the world. On walks, she greets humans happily and gets excited when seeing other dogs. Etzie rides great in a car, sitting up like a human, looking out the window. She enjoys playing with stuffy toys, balls, and antlers. Etzie is a sweet tempered girl looking for her forever companion!
Etzie is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken and spayed. Her new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. Etzie ' s adoption fee is $275.
